If social media represents the voice of the people, the people need a hobby or something.
On Sunday, a Twitter user reportedly reposted an image of a teenage male Target employee bagging an order. The cashier’s name was Alex, and a legend was born.
Alex, who looks like the spotlight-shy sixth member of One Direction, began trending on Twitter as #AlexFromTarget. Fans posted their own images, treating this anonymous retail employee like a god.
Although several Twitter users claim to be the elusive Alex, many media outlets point to DGM Alex, who calls himself the “official” Alex from Target. He presently boasts over 300,000 followers.
That’s enough Internet for today.
This is the face that inspired an entire trend.

And Twitter lost its mind.
We don’t know, Alex, we don’t know.

Even Target jumped on the bandwagon of support for Alex.
